After decades as an action movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger now leads his first-ever live-action TV show. Netflix’s FUBAR follows a father-daughter duo who discover they are both secret agents for the CIA. Schwarzenegger’s Luke Brunner nears retirement as he meets his daughter Emma Brunner (Monica Barbara) in The Field. The series involves tons of complicated family dynamics and love triangles as the CIA team tries to take down a powerful terrorist.
The new comedy series premiered on Netflix on May 25, 2023 and received a mixed reception from critics; However, it is endorsed by Decider’s Joel Keller. In his reviewKeller wrote, “Between Arnold’s witty lines, the hilarious supporting cast, and the well-crafted family dynamic, FUBAR delivers an entertaining first episode that progresses quickly and keeps you engaged.”
The show is created by Nick Santora and Schwarzenegger serves as executive producer. Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Fortune Feimster And Gabriel Luna also a leading role in the ensemble cast.

Has FUBAR Has it been renewed on Netflix? Will there be a season 2?
FUBAR Hasn’t been renewed on Netflix yet, but don’t worry. The show is still fairly new to the platform and if the streamer decides to renew the series for a second season, they’ll be sharing the news soon. It typically takes at least a month for Netflix to announce renewals, as Netflix looks at the first 28 days of streaming stats before making a decision. However, there are other similar action-oriented series like The night agent And The diplomat were renewed after the “opening weekend”, so stay tuned.
The action comedy finale is a positive preparing for more seasons. While the series doesn’t end on a cliffhanger per se, it does show that the family faces a new predicament after Tally’s (Fabiana Udenio) wedding reveals Luke and Emma’s true identities. However, the series has to create a new antagonist as the highly intelligent terrorist Boro (Luna) was shot dead in the last episode. But that shouldn’t be a problem as Luke explained to his family that they had to go into hiding now that terrorists around the world are tracking their every move.
The cast have not given any indication in their interviews if there are any plans for a second season, although everyone seems to have enjoyed making the series and would like more. In an interview with screen rantExpressing his attraction to the show, Schwarzenegger said, “I think it was just a brilliant idea to do something, kind of a concept that came out of a very, very successful movie.” True Lies was one of the biggest hits of the year, directed and written by Jim Cameron. And then David Ellison came to me with the idea of doing some kind of action comedy True Liesbut to do a full eight episodes I was very, very excited and I did my best and made it.”
He added, “It was also very fortunate to have a really great cast because that’s the most important thing because you can never really carry a show like this alone or do the acting yourself.”
Schwarzenegger seems set on the story being only “eight full episodes” if he did The I had a lot of fun shooting the first season, there’s no reason not to come back for a second one. And Netflix still has plenty of time to greenlight another episode in the coming months.
