day shift is a Netflix horror comedy starring Jamie Foxx as Bud Jablonski, a working-class dad whose job as a pool cleaner serves only as an excuse for what he really does for a living: hunting and killing vampires.

The film is set in modern-day Los Angeles, where vampires seem to be rampant. There’s plenty of money to be made by hunting them down, killing them, and then collecting their fangs, and that’s what Bud needs.

Bud’s ex-wife Jocelyn (Meagan Good) plans to move their daughter to Florida and enroll her in a private high school for expensive tuition. In order to pay tuition, Bud has to make a blast by bringing vampire fangs. In order to achieve this, he must try to get back to the vampire hunting association, which kicked Bud out for his numerous code violations.

Bud hires “Big” John Elliot (Snoop Dogg), an old army friend and experienced vampire hunter, to help him get back into the union. The union leader reluctantly allows him to return, but under strict conditions that Bud finds difficult to comply with. Dave Franco is on board as Bud’s “supervisor” and partner in the vampire hunt.

What the three of them don’t know is that while they’re on the hunt for vampire fangs, they’re being followed by a vampire named Audrey (Karla Souza), who has a desire to raise a vampire army.
