Netflix will have Sweet magnolias Fans will spill all summer when the ten-episode third season (finally!) releases On Thursday, July 20, TVLine found out exclusively.
Based on the book series by Sherryl Woods, the series follows three childhood best friends – JoAnna Garcia Swisher (reba) as recently divorced wife Maddie Townsend, Brooke Elliott (Drop Dead Diva) as chef/restaurateur Dana Sue Sullivan and Heather Headley (Chicago Med) as attorney Helen Decatur – who are realizing their shared dream of opening a spa in their hometown of Serenity, SC
The series also stars Justin Bruening as ex-baseball pro Cal Maddox, Logan Allen as Maddie’s younger son Kyle Townsend, Carson Rowland as Maddie’s older son Ty Townsend, Anneliese Judge as Dana Sue’s daughter Annie Sullivan, and Brandon Quinn as Dana Sue’s on- Again starring husband Ronnie Sullivan, Dion Johnstone as sous chef Erik Whitley, Chris Medlin as Sullivan’s employee Isaac Downey, Chris Klein as Maddie’s ex-husband Bill Townsend and Jamie Lynn Spears as Bill’s former lover Noreen Fitzgibbons.
And if the groundbreaking twists of Sweet magnolias‘ Season Two Finale Are there any signs that the ladies are in for a lot of drama this summer? As you may recall, Dana Sue invited Ronnie back into her heart and home; Helen miscarried, grew closer to Erik, and then was surprised by a proposal from Ryan; and Maddie discovered violent skeletons in Cal’s closet. And of course the biggest revelation of all: Bill is Isaac’s father!
