The source material behind Netflix maid will receive a serialized novel later this year by author Stephanie Land, which is expected to hit bookstores on November 7, 2023.

Released on Netflix in October 2021, maid was one of Netflix’s most successful limited series. It is an adaptation of the bestseller Maids: Hard work, low pay and a mother’s will to survive by Stephanie Land.

The next book with the title Classcontinues the story of Maid, based on the true-life and memoir of author Stephanie Land, who describes the new book as both a “Maid sequel and origin story.”

Per GoodReadsHere’s what you can expect from the new book, which is 288 pages long:

“Class paints an intimate and heartbreaking portrait of motherhood, which converges and often conflicts with personal desires and professional aspirations. Who has the right to create art? Who Has the Right to Go to College? And what kind of work is valued in our culture? In clear, candid, and moving prose, Class grapples with these questions, offering a scathing indictment of the American educational system and an inspiring testimony of a mother’s triumph against all odds.”

will maid be back on Netflix for a Season 2?

Could Netflix be adapting the serial novel into a follow-up series? It’s possible, but not currently planned. maid It was originally intended to be a limited series only, but given the series’ success on Netflix since its release, it could certainly serve as the basis for a future season.

Netflix, of course maid has already made a number of adjustments from the original main novel (as detailed in TikToks by the author and ). numerous posts), including the fact that her daughter’s name is Story, not Maddy, for example, but overall the series and book share similar tactics and themes.

While we’re yet to see Warner Bros. Television not offering the second book publicly (and Netflix too), given the renewed interest and new material, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
