New Netflix shows and movies in June 2023

Chris Hemsworth, extraction 2

Jasin Boland/Netflix

June brings strength to Netflix. The best thing to stream on the service in June is extraction 2, the sequel to the 2020 take-home blockbuster starring Chris Hemsworth as a mercenary whose special abilities (huge biceps) are best suited to get people out of bad times. Also making a final appearance is Henry Cavill’s version of Geralt of Rivia, the over-the-top hero at the heart of the fantasy series The Witcher. The heart is a muscle too, so check out some fluttering in the final season of the teenage rom-com I have neverwhich gets going on June 8th.

Keep scrolling for more of the month’s highlights as well as the full list of everything coming and going on Netflix in June 2023.

Last Month’s Guide: New Netflix Shows and Movies (May 2023)

The best new Netflix movies and shows for June

Ramona Young, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Lee Rodriguez I have never

Netflix

I have never Season 4 (June 8)

Who will Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) choose? The hot guy, the other hot guy, another hot guy or Ben (Jaren Lewison)? No offense Ben, but you’re dealing with a guy named Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), played by a 32-year-old actor. The final season of Mindy Kaling’s high school romantic comedy should better answer that question, and I don’t want to hear any of this “Devi is learning to love herself” crap. YOU. MUST. CHOOSE. (Fan)

Tour de France: Unleashed, breakpoint Part 2 (June 8, June 21)

Netflix has a pretty good track record with sports documentaries, and in June, a couple gets the nod. On June 8th the movie Tour de France: Unleashed looks at the most grueling and popular cycling race in the world, a competition so difficult and demanding you almost have to cheat. Later in the month the tennis documentaries breakpointof the Formula 1: Drive to Survive Crew, returns for the second half of its debut season. I’ve been waiting for the Frances Tiafoe at the US Open episode for a long time. (Fan / Fan)

Our planet II (14th June)

Our planet is home to an abundance of beautiful and amazing creatures. It’s also home to a lot of junk. This second season of the nature docuseries, narrated by David Attenborough, once again offers a mind-blowing dose of cuddly animals mixed with the hard truth about the impact of climate change and human intervention on the world. It’s not always a simple watch, but it’s important. (Fan)

extraction 2 (June 16)

Chris Hemsworth returns for the sequel to his megahit 2020 Netflix film, though his character may have died in the original. He obviously didn’t, and now the mercenary is back to do what he does best: kill some guys. This time his mission is to get the family of a Georgian gangster out of prison. (Fan)

The Witcher Season 3 (June 29)

The fittest babysitter in history returns! Season 3 of the fantasy series based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski will be the last for Star Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia – he will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth – who continues to look after Ciri (Freya Alan) as she becomes a bigger target for villains. The eight-episode Season 3 will be split into two parts, with the first five episodes arriving on June 29th and the final three episodes arriving on July 27th. –Tim Surette (Fan)

black mirror Season 6 (June to be announced)

Charlie Brooker’s often devastating, sometimes enriching, and mostly chilling anthology series about the way humans interact with technology may not have the same popular reputation as it did in the first few seasons, but this new five-episode installment will be worth looking for pearls. This time, Salma Hayek, AaronPaul, Michael Ceraand more join in. Here’s everything we know about the season. –Tim Surette (Fan)
