Netflix initially offered both DVD sales and DVD rentals by mail order, but after a year sales were discontinued to focus on the DVD rental business.

With the political drama “House of Cards” as its first original material, the service began purchasing and producing it in 2011.
By 2022, original content made up 50 percent of Netflix’s library in the US, and the company had expanded into other areas, including releasing video games through the Netflix service.

According to the site, it’s common for some issues to be reported throughout the day. However, as of 12:30 p.m., over 680 issues have been reported.
The website states: “Downdetector will only report an incident if the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.”
