Almost two years after our last visit, the packaging is starting to come off Adolfo Suaya‘s Whiskey Hotel just north of the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
The project has been under construction since 2020 1717 N. Wilcox Aveconsists of a seven-story building which, when completed, will have 134 guest rooms and 3,580 square meters of retail space on the ground floor. The property also includes an underground car park with space for more than 100 vehicles.
CK Architecture and RVCA are designing the whiskey which is currently clad in painted stucco rather than the bricks shown in the renderings. A roof terrace is also planned for use by guests and other visitors to the property.
When construction was announced, Suaya hinted that the estate’s eponymous drink would play a major role in the operation. Whiskey tastings and even a fountain in the hotel lobby are planned.
The whiskey was originally scheduled to be completed in 2022. The estimated value of the completed building is just over $78 million. according to a project website.
The project joins a handful of new hotel developments planned north of the Walk of Fame, including a 10-story inn approved for a site one block west on Whitley Avenue and an 81-room hotel is planned for an adjacent property in Wilcox.
Other nearby projects in development include: The 14-story office building on Hollywood and Cahuenga Boulevard planned by Onni Groupas well as the Hollywood Arts Collective in the South.
